Emily Pearl Huston - Board Chair
Community. Curiosity. Language.
Emily is an immigration and humanitarian policy professional whose work with displaced communities began in 2006, while she was an Orbis resident living in Denver and working alongside refugees to run a community thrift store. She holds a Master of Law and Diplomacy and has since worked across federal government, nonprofit, and international settings on refugee protection, humanitarian immigration programs, and cross-cultural engagement, including research and fieldwork in the Horn of Africa. Emily is deeply interested in intergenerational community housing and is actively developing a small-scale, community-oriented housing project in Denver. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching children to ski and exploring Colorado’s cultural, linguistic, and community events with her son.
