Paul Bindel - Treasurer
Connector. Resource-finder. Capacity-Builder.
Paul leads Center for Community Wealth's efforts to secure and develop community-owned real estate in Metro Denver. He is committed to building new forms of collective ownership in Colorado, shifting power and assets to community members and low-income workers. He has developed worker and real estate cooperatives at Center for Community Wealth Building for the last six years. He co-founded Queen City Cooperative, a limited equity housing cooperative, in 2015 and Colorado Solidarity Fund, a grassroots investment club, in 2018. He has played a critical role in passing the Group Living Amendment that expanded the number of unrelated adults who could live together in Denver, and he is participating in the Denver Social Housing Coalition.
Paul grew up in rural New Mexico and has called Denver home for 12 years. He loves reading, visiting hot springs, playing board games and making food with friends. Outside of work, he's beginning to learn Watsu, sauna meistering and other modalities of water-based therapy. And he dreams of a world where Denver residents in social housing are free from extractive debt.
